Bespoke Automotive Design & Engineering | Rigid Custom Works
Bespoke Automotive Design & Engineering
Rigid Custom Works operates at the intersection of precision engineering and automotive restoration. Where the factory stopped producing parts, we start. Our bespoke design and engineering service is built for owners, restorers, and specialists who need components made to a standard that the secondary market can't supply — dimensionally accurate, materials-correct, and built to last longer than the original.
Engineering-Grade Manufacturing for Automotive Applications
Every component we produce is developed from first principles. We don't copy existing aftermarket parts — we reverse-engineer from original factory specimens using precision metrology to capture true OEM geometry, then model, prototype, test, and refine until the result is indistinguishable from what came off the original production line. Material selection is engineering-led: we use ASA polymer as standard for its UV stability and temperature resistance, with carbon-fibre-reinforced nylon available for applications requiring higher structural performance.
Classic Car Interior Components
Our deepest catalogue is in Mercedes-Benz classic interior restoration — R129 SL and W124 platforms — where we've developed direct replacements for trim components that have been out of production for twenty or thirty years. Dome light assemblies, seat belt covers, sun visor backings, overhead console components, switch covers, and presenter arm housings are all available as direct-fit replacements requiring no modification to the vehicle.
Off-Road and Performance Applications
Beyond classic restoration, we develop aftermarket upgrades for off-road platforms including the Nissan Xterra, Frontier, and Toyota FJ Cruiser — switch mount systems, intake components, and bracket upgrades designed to support the modifications that serious off-road users make to their vehicles. For performance applications, we produce gauge housings and instrumentation mounts for BMW and Subaru platforms that integrate with the original interior architecture.
Bespoke Development: Parts That Don't Exist Yet
The most significant work we do is developing parts that have no existing source at all. If you're working on a vehicle restoration or modification and have reached the point where you simply cannot find what you need — contact us. We evaluate all bespoke development requests. The information we need to get started: make, model, year, a description of the part and its function, any OEM part numbers, and photographs or measurements if you have them.
Quality and Tolerance Standards
All Rigid Custom Works components are produced to a dimensional tolerance of ±0.1mm on critical geometry. Heat resistance is rated to 100°C continuous for standard ASA components, suitable for enclosed cabin environments in high-ambient-temperature climates. UV stability is significantly better than OEM ABS, meaning parts will not yellow or embrittle under prolonged sun exposure. Every unit is inspected before despatch and backed by a 12-month manufacturing warranty.
Bespoke Automotive Design & Precision Engineering
Bridging the gap between concept and reality, Rigid Custom Works specializes in solving complex automotive challenges. From obsolete parts for restorers to one-of-a-kind components for custom builders, our bespoke design services deliver high-precision engineering that fits, performs, and endures.

Bespoke Automotive Design for Unique Vehicles
Traditional fabrication often involves costly trial-and-error that wastes time and materials. We eliminate this with professional-grade metrology to capture exact chassis, engine bay, or interior geometry. This enables sub-millimeter accurate digital design before any production begins.
