The factory outer side covering on the E46 front seat frame is a known weak point. The original ABS panel becomes brittle with age and UV exposure, and the thin clip tabs are the first thing to fail — one knock with a shoe or a vacuum cleaner and the cover splits or pops off entirely, leaving the bare metal seat rail and adjustment mechanism on show. Replacement stock from BMW for this trim is effectively gone, and used panels pulled from scrap interiors arrive already cracked.

This is a brand-new, manufactured-to-order replacement that reproduces the full OEM geometry and fixes the failure mode at its source. It replaces OEM 8255367 / 52108255367 (Left) and 8255368 / 52108255368 (Right).

The factory part was moulded in standard ABS, which embrittles and discolours after two decades of cabin heat cycling and sunlight through the side glass. We print this cover in engineering-grade ASA — chosen specifically because it carries the same rigidity class as the original but with markedly better UV stability and impact resistance at the temperatures a parked car interior actually reaches. It will not yellow, chalk, or go brittle on the timeline the original did.

Dimensions, contour, and mounting-clip geometry are reverse-engineered directly from a factory panel, so the cover indexes onto the same locating points and snaps into the original clip positions. No drilling, no screws, no adhesive, no modification to the seat frame.
