Mercedes-AMG planned 650 of them. Demand pushed the run to about 800, and by mid-2012 every one was spoken for. That is the whole population of the Black Series C63 AMG W204 Coupe, worldwide, for all time. This Black Series C63 front lip was built for those cars and no others.
The Car: Black Series C63 AMG W204
The Black Series badge is reserved for the most extreme version of an AMG model, and the W204 Coupe earned it. The hand-built 6.2-litre naturally aspirated V8 was given forged pistons, connecting rods and crankshaft derived from the SLS AMG engine, lifting output to 517 hp and 620 Nm. The car reaches 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and is electronically limited to 300 km/h.
The chassis changed as much as the engine. The front track grew by 40 mm and the rear by 79 mm, which forced new, wider wheel arches and a front bumper that exists on no other C-Class. Adjustable coilovers, carbon-composite brake discs of 390 mm front and 360 mm rear, and a locking rear differential finished the package. An optional aerodynamics package added a carbon front splitter and carbon flics on the bumper corners.
The point for anyone fitting parts to this car is simple. The Black Series front bumper is its own shape. Nothing cut for the standard C63 AMG bumper follows its line.
What the Market Offers a Black Series Owner
An owner searching for a Black Series C63 front lip finds a thin field. Most of what is sold as a C63 lip is shaped for the standard C63 or the ordinary W204 bumper. Offered up to a Black Series bumper, the centre section sits at the wrong line, the ends stop short of the wider corners, and the gaps show from across a car park.
Finish is the second problem. A printed weave or a carbon wrap over a plastic base reads as real for about a week. Then the pattern breaks at a bend, the clear coat chalks in the sun, and the edge frays where it meets the road. A car that cost its owner a six-figure sum and was built in a run of 800 does not deserve a part made to a price.
The owner of one of these cars is not shopping for the cheapest option. They are shopping for the part that looks like it left the factory on the car.

How Rigid Custom Works Built the Lip
We started from the Black Series bumper itself, not from a standard C63 part. The lip follows the bumper line edge to edge: a wide centre section with end plates that wrap the bumper corners and sit tight to the face with no gaps. It fits in place of the factory front lip and is secured with self-tapping fasteners. There is no cutting and no change to the bumper face.
The material is real carbon fiber, woven twill, not a wrap or a print. The weave runs straight along the full length and carries cleanly around the bends, which is the detail a trained eye checks first. It is finished in a deep gloss UV-resistant clear that protects the weave from stone chips and sun. Light marks polish out. The lip is one piece, full width, and weighs 2.6 kg.
Each lip is handmade to order. Laying the twill, carrying the weave around the bends and building up the gloss clear takes about three to four weeks per part. That is the lead time for a piece made for 800 cars, and it is the reason the weave lines up and the corners fit.
Climate drove the finish choice. In the Gulf, a ground-level part takes the full UV load and radiant heat off the tarmac, and an unprotected clear coat yellows and chalks. In Europe, winter salt and freeze-thaw cycles attack edges and fastener points, and a car that sits through the cold months gives the damage time to set. In North America, Sun Belt UV matches the Gulf, while the Northeast and Midwest add road grit and salt. A lip built to a lifespan meets every one of those at once. A UV-stable clear over real carbon is the answer to all three.

On the car, a Black Series C63 front lip done properly gives the owner a front line that is lower and wider, with carbon that reads as carbon from any angle and corners that match the Black Series arches. Nothing looks added. It looks like the car was always meant to wear it.
How many Black Series C63s were made?
About 800 worldwide. Mercedes-AMG first announced 650, then raised the run by 150 because of demand, and the model was reported sold out in June 2012.
Does this lip fit a standard C63 AMG bumper?
No. The bumper has to be a Black Series bumper. The lip also fits a standard C63 that has been converted to a Black Series front bumper. It does not fit the standard C63 AMG bumper or any other W204 bumper.
How long does it take to build?
Each lip is handmade to order and takes about three to four weeks before it ships.
Does it need cutting or drilling?
No cutting. The lip mounts with self-tapping fasteners in place of the factory front lip, with no change to the bumper face.
